Welcome Bonuses: How to set up a welcome bonus for new customers

Welcome Bonuses is an automated promotion that allows you to reward new customers with bonus points immediately after they join your loyalty program. This is one of the most effective ways to motivate a first visit and turn a new guest into a returning customer.

This promotion works automatically and does not require manual actions after setup.

On the Basic screen, you define the main settings of the promotion:

  • Promotion name - Enter a clear and recognizable name, for example Welcome Bonuses.
  • Loyalty card - Select the loyalty card to which this promotion will be applied.
  • Loyalty program - Choose Scenarios, as welcome bonuses are part of automated loyalty scenarios.
  • Promotion type - Select Welcome Bonuses. This promotion type is designed specifically for rewarding new customers after registration or first interaction.
  • Promotion period - You can leave the promotion active indefinitely so that every new customer receives the bonus automatically.
After completing the Basic settings, click Continue to move to the next screen.

Here you can define:
Type of accrual
Choose what kind of reward the customer will receive:
  • Bonus points
  • Discount
  • Gift item
Number of bonuses
  • Specify how many bonus points the customer will receive (for example, 120 points).
Bonus expiration period
  • Set how long the bonuses will be valid (for example, 3 days).
  • If the customer does not use the bonus within this period, it will expire automatically.
Push notification text
  • Write a welcome message and clearly explain what the customer receives.
  • Try to include: the bonus amount, a sense of value, a call to action
Example:
[Name], welcome to our club! 🎉 You’ve received a gift — 120 bonus points. Use them within 3 days!
Clear and friendly messaging increases the chance that the customer will come back and make their first purchase.

Managing the promotion in Active promotions

After saving the promotion, it will appear in the Active promotions section.

Here you can:
  • See all active welcome bonus campaigns
  • Check the bonus amount and validity period
  • Manage the promotion using the menu:
  • View
  • Pause
  • Copy
  • Archive
This allows you to easily control and adjust your promotions without rebuilding them from scratch.
