Custom Event: How to Launch a One-Time Promotion for Any Date

Custom Event is one of the fastest and most flexible ways to launch a promotion for a specific date or period.
This type of promotion is ideal when you need a quick marketing action without building a long-term loyalty rule.

You can use Custom Event for:

  • a new branch opening,
  • public holidays,
  • themed days (e.g. International Coffee Day),
  • short-term sales or special campaigns.
For example: “30% off for everyone on Coffee Day” or “Grand opening — special discount for 7 days”.

Basic: Creating a Custom Event Promotion

Here you:
  • enter the promotion name (for example: Coffee Day or Grand Opening),
  • select the loyalty card the promotion applies to,
  • choose Scenarios as the loyalty program type,
  • select Custom event as the promotion type,
  • set the promotion period (start and end dates).
This allows you to run the promotion only during the selected dates, which is perfect for limited-time offers.
Once the basic settings are complete, click Continue.

Promotion Terms: Setting the Offer and Push Notification

On the Promotion terms screen, you configure how the promotion works for customers.
Here you can:
  • choose the type of accrual:
  • discount,
  • bonus points,
  • or gift item,
  • define the discount size (for example, 25% or 30%),
  • set the expiration period for the offer,
  • write a push notification text.
The push notification should clearly explain:
  • what the customer receives,
  • how much the benefit is,
  • how long the promotion is valid.
Example:
[Name], enjoy a one-time 25% discount!
Valid from December 14 to December 20. Don’t miss it!
Clear and time-limited messages significantly increase redemption rates.
After filling in the details, click Save.

Active Promotions: Managing Your Custom Event

After saving, the promotion appears in the Active promotions section.
From here you can:
  • view promotion details,
  • pause the promotion if needed,
  • copy it for future use,
  • or archive it after the campaign ends.
This makes Custom Events easy to reuse for future holidays or special occasions.
